Interview Tips
In addition to the following Internet resources, remember these important interview tips:
- Prepare a resume or work summary to bring to the interview. Even if you have never worked, it is important to outline your special skills and accomplishments in school and the community as appropriate.
- Find out as much as you can about the business for which you will interview.
- Be prepared to ask questions about the job and the company.
- Dress appropriately, even if you are interviewing in a local retail store or very informal workplace, or for a volunteer job. Remember, no jeans or sneakers!
- Smile, make eye contact, and be enthusiastic. Employers tend to hire the most friendly and enthusiastic candidates, believing these candidates will be enthusiastic about their work
- Try to relax and remember you have something to offer the employer!
