The Author

Beverly Slomka is a senior recruiter/team leader at a nationwide healthcare search firm, and a former Vice President and Business Manager at Merrill Lynch & Co.   In Merrill Lynch, Ms. Slomka recruited all levels of personnel and served on recruitment committees of major divisions and sectors.

Ms. Slomka was inspired to write Teens and the Job Game based on her experience as a recruiter and manager. Raised in a working class family, Ms. Slomka credits the encouragement of parents and teachers, good education, hard work, and a good work ethic for her ultimate success in the work world.

Through Teens and the Job Game, Ms. Slomka lets teens in on the secret of her success and inspires them to succeed. Ms. Slomka is a supporting member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  She earned a B.A. Psychology and M.S. Education/Rehabilitation Counseling from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Ms. Slomka is married and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
