Beverly Slomka was a Vice President and Business Manager at Merrill Lynch & Co. for 22 years. In this capacity, Ms. Slomka recruited all levels of personnel and served on recruitment committees of major divisions within the company.
After retiring from Merrill Lynch in 2002, Ms. Slomka pursued a career in health care. She was inspired to write Teens and the Job Game based on her experience as a recruiter and manager in both financial services and health care. Coming from a working class family, Ms. Slomka credits the encouragement of parents and teachers, good education, hard work, and a good work ethic for her ultimate success in the work world.
Through Teens and the Job Game, Ms. Slomka lets teens in on the secret of her success and inspires them to succeed. Ms. Slomka is a supporting member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She earned a B.A. Psychology and M.S. Education/Rehabilitation Counseling from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Ms. Slomka is married and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
